The Goal
The goal of Zimride is to provide a safe and hassle free way to find a ride, wherever you are going. We hope it will make life easier for those without a car, and provide company + money for those with a car. Zimride makes carpooling safer and easier by using your facebook account, so that you can know a little bit about a person before you share a ride with them.
Share
Other rideshare sites have a very limited number of users, which can make it difficult to find an appropriate match. Zimride utilizes the facebook "share" feature, allowing you to broadcast your trip to every one of your friends. When you share your ride, it will appear in the "News Feed" of all of your friends the next time they log into facebook...much easier than calling all 300 of your friends.
Flexibility
Zimride easily allows for one-time rides, or regular commutes.
Events
Zimride allows any event organizer to create a custom rideshare page for your event. Attendees will appreciate this.
Development
Zimride is currently looking for sponsorship, donations, and other developers interested in collaborating on this project. Zimride is developed using php, mysql, smarty, google maps api, and the facebook development platform.
